At Village Tech Initiative (VTI), we believe every young person deserves access to the digital tools that shape the future. Through hands-on training in computer literacy, coding, and technology innovation, we’re bridging the digital divide in rural Uganda, equipping students to learn, create, and compete in a connected world. We want to transform classrooms into centers of opportunity and discovery.
Village Tech Initiative (VTI) is a nonprofit organization committed to bridging the digital divide in rural Uganda. We equip young people and teachers with the skills and confidence to use technology as a tool for learning, innovation, and opportunity. By bringing digital literacy and coding education into underserved schools, we’re nurturing a generation ready to shape Uganda’s digital future.
Our work goes beyond training we aim to build lasting change in schools and communities. Through teacher mentorship, community partnerships, and access to practical technology tools, we help create environments where digital learning can continue to grow and inspire new possibilities long after our programs end.
We empower rural students with essential computer and internet skills, introducing them to the world of technology through interactive learning. Our curriculum combines foundational digital skills, coding projects, and hands-on exploration
We believe that sustainable digital transformation starts with teachers.
Our teacher-training program equips educators with the skills and confidence to integrate digital literacy and coding into everyday classroom instruction.
Our three-month intensive IT Bootcamps provide high-school graduates, college students, and young professionals with hands-on training in digital tools, computer fundamentals, and entry-level certifications.
Since our founding, Village Tech Initiative has been at the forefront of digital education in rural Uganda. Through our programs, we’ve reached thousands of students and teachers, helping bridge the digital divide and open doors to new opportunities. Our impact is seen not only in numbers, but in the confidence, curiosity, and creativity of the young people we train.
